Presented here is a selection of military models produced by Jay, either as commission pieces for magazines or for private collections. If you are interested in commissioning a model of any subject then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hasegawa 1/48th Typhoon

Appearing in my very first SAMI magazine article in 2016, it reappeared a couple of years later in Model Aircraft magazine, and still resides in Jay's own collection.

Far Eastern Spit'

Eduard's wonderful Mk.VIII Spitfire in 48th scale. My first build article for Airfix Model World magazine, appearing in February 2018.

Dragon Model's over-priced but highly detailed anti-aircraft cannon, finished during the first Covid-19 lockdown. Commissioned by AMW magazine.

The original tool Eduard kit, featuring Brassin engine and cockpit, cannon and wheels. Featured in SAMI September 2016 and again in 2019 in a retrospective article.

Eduard 48th scale kits: Both appeared in a joint feature in SAMI in February 2017 and the Spitfire later on its own in MAM. The Spit' remains in Jay's collection whilst the Bf109 was sold to an overseas customer.

Tamiya's vintage 48th scale kit. Featured in SAMI in June 2017 and again in August 2019.

Lord Cardigan & Ronald

A scratch-built 35mm figure, based on Historex horse parts. Horse furniture fabricated from Milliput and plastic card. The figure and all his accoutrements are created from Milliput.

Hasegawa 48th scale, Ju87 'Stuka'

Featured in Model Aircraft Monthly magazine in September 2017, and now residing in Jay's own collection.

The Red Hunter

Eduard's 'new-tool' Bf109G-6. Commissioned by SAMI. Cover feature appearing in June 2017.

Rourke's Drift

Mitche's Military Models 120mm resin figures. Sold separately, they are definitely more effective as a pair, especially when mounted on a beautiful Oakwood Studios plynth base.

Sopwith Pup

Wingnut Wings wonderful 32nd scale Pup featured in Augusts edition of Airfix Model World magazine.

The woeful 48th scale ICM kit, greatly improved by the addition of resin engines and cockpit and sundry other details. Commissioned by SAMI, and appeared over two issues in December 2016 and January 2017.

Scratch built, 35mm figure. Based on Historex horse parts. All details created from Milliput and plastic card.

The wonderful new 48th scale Henschel from GasPatch Models. As flown by Adolf Galland in Poland, 1939. Featured in SAMI, January 2018

Oberschutz, 1939

1/16th scale, Andrea Models German Infantryman. A wonderfully realistic sculpture based on a period photograph.

Eduard's new-tool 1/48th scale Focke-Wulf Fw190A-4 with Eduard's 'Brassin' engine & gun bays. Commissioned by SAMI and appeared also in MAM.

RP Model's 75mm Sun Tzu

Commissioned by Airfix Model World magazine and featured in the December 2018 issue. It was awarded silver in the best figure category at Telford 2018.

Eduard Spitfire Mk VIII

Eduard/Brassin engine set added which required major surgery to the air-frame. Commissioned by AMW to appear in a future issue.

Wasp Attack!

Eduard's 48th scale kit commissioned by SAMI, and appeared in the February 2019 issue

Eduard's release of Hasegawa's classic Italian Thunderbolt. Commissioned by AMW magazine and featured in August 2019

Fokker D.VII

Alfred Lindenberger's colouful Fokker D.VII is not only one of my favourite aircraft but also one of my favourite schemes. Featured in the March 2019 issue of SAMI, and made a brief appearance also in my 100 year anniversary supplement for AMW

Tempest V.

Eduard's wonderful 48th scale Tempest V. Finished during the first Covid lockdown, this will appear in Model Aircraft magazine in the new year (2021)

Tamiya's wonderful 48th scale kit. Appeared in my Humbrol 100 year anniversary supplement and MAM

Henscel Hs129

The classic 48th scale Hasegawa kit, with added CMK resin cockpit and wheel bays. Featured in AMW, February 2020

Thunder Models wonderful 35th scale kit. Commissioned by Airfix Model World magazine and made during Covid-19 lockdown.

Eduard's stunning Chattanooga Choo Choo limited edition 1/48 release, commissioned by AMW magazine. Now resides in a private collection

The wonderful Eduard 1/48 Fw190A8/R2 Sturmbock. The first model started and finished during Covid19 lock-down. Appeared in AMW, January 2021
